Installing Data Abstract for Cocoa

Installation - On Mac for Use With Xcode

If you haven't yet done so, go to your products download page and download the latest version of Data Abstract for Cocoa.

Double-click on the downloaded .pkg file and follow the instructions. The defaults will likely be the best option in all but a very few cases.

Once Data Abstract for Cocoa has finished installing, you will find 3 applications in your applications folder.

You will find all the other Data Abstract files and sample code installed in /Developer/RemObjects Software/, but we provide handy shortcuts to the samples in ~/Documents/RemObjects Samples.

Installing Mono

The Relativity Server application provided with Data Abstract requires the open source mono framework to be installed in order to run. If you do not already have it on your machine, you can download from Mono Project's website.

Mono can be downloaded either as a runtime (MRE) or a full SDK (MDK). To run ** Relativity Server**, you only need to install the MRE, but installing the full MDK is also fine.

Note for version 3.12.0: Only the MDK can be found on the Mono Project's download page. If you wish to download the MRE, you can retrieve it from the Mono 3.12.0 folder on Sourceforge's mirror.
