Installing Data Abstract in Visual Studio

There are several ways to install Remoting SDK on your system and integrate it with Visual Studio.

  • "Data Abstract for .NET" will install support for building .NET-based clients.
  • "Data Abstract for .NET, Server Edition" will also install support for building .NET-based Custom Data Abstract servers.
  • "Data Abstract for Cocoa" will install support for building Cocoa-based clients, using Elements.
  • "Data Abstract for Java" will install support for building Java- and Android-based clients, using Elements.
  • "Data Abstract for JavaScript" will install support for accessing DA servers from JavaScript-based Metro applications.
  • "Data Abstract for Visual Studio, Server Edition" will install all of the above.

Supported Versions

Data Abstract supports Visual Studio 2008 and later. Support for new versions will be added as they come out, without this page necessarily being updated right away to reflect the latest version supported.

Trial

The trial version is fully functional without any technical limitations, however your apps will display a trial message when run and are not licensed for distribution. IDE functionality will disable after the 30-day trial period is over.

Full Version

Installing the full version of Data Abstract is easy. Simply download the installer from the licensed downloads page, and run it. You can update from the trial to the full version, and update to newer versions, without needing to uninstall.
